Safeguarding at Highfield
Highfield Community Primary School fully recognises the contribution we can make to protect children from harm and to support and promote the welfare of all children who are pupils at our school.
At Highfield safeguarding permeates all aspects of school life and is everyone’s responsibility. We are all committed to safeguarding and promoting the physical, mental and emotional welfare of every pupil. We implement a whole-school preventative approach to managing safeguarding concerns, ensuring that the wellbeing of pupils is at the forefront of all action taken. We recognise that no single professional can have a full picture of a child’s needs and circumstances. If children and families are to receive the right help at the right time, everyone who comes into contact with them has a role to play in identifying concerns, sharing information and taking prompt action.
Our school aims to provide a positive, stimulating, caring and safe environment which promotes the social, physical, emotional and moral development of each child. We work hard to maintain a safeguarding ethos and culture whereby children feel safe and are safe whilst at school and on their way to and from school. Further information can be found in our Safeguarding Policy.
If you are ever concerned about the safety or well‐being of someone at our school please talk to one of the school’s Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).
